While novel coronavirus infections of children compose a proportionally small portion of cases, the pandemic is still having a significant impact on younger populations worldwide. The daily life of children and youth now seems almost unrecognizable from what it was a few short months ago. Children and youth are out of school, isolated from friends and extended family, and coping with the unprecedented uncertainty that comes from a global pandemic.
There are also increasing reports in the U.S., U.K. and Europe of a mysterious inflammatory condition among children that may be linked to the virus. On May 28, the Anatomy of a Pandemic digital forum will look at the impact this crisis is having on children both clinically and socially.
Speakers: Dr. Jim Kellner, MD and Dr. Deinera Exner-Cortens, PhD
