A mini Festival of Ennio Morricone

A collaboration between Sidewalk Citizen, Calgary Philharmonic, and the Calgary Institute for the Humanities

A special two evening event dedicated to the sublime cinematographic music of Ennio Morricone. The legendary Italian composer created some of the most memorable music in recent history and worked on every film genre from Spaghetti Westerns and horror to comedies and dramas, and with some of Cinema’s greatest auteurs from Sergio Leone, Pasolini, and Tornatore, to De-Palma and Tarantino.

A special edition of ‘Music to my Ears’ - Tzavta will explore the music through conversation and live performances by Conductor Janna Sailor, Calgary Philharmonic Principal Oboe Alex Klein, and Pianist Mark Limacher. The second evening will focus on the cinematic experience with film scholar, Dr. Francesca Cadel, and will too feature live music.
