Would encourage you to take an overall wellness approach rather than how we support students with a previously diagnosed "mental illness." I use the 2015 SAMHSA model with 8 domains. As a licensed mental health professional in NYS as well as being in academia about the same amount of time as yourself, I share the challenges associated with maintaining your role as educator rather than "social working" our students. I believe we can operate on the assumption that most of our students have had at least 5 ACES, so how do we holistically serve all of our students with tools for maintaining their wellness.
