Given some of the reasons students gave for joining the profession, do you think field supervisors and social work instructors need to dedicate time in supervision and in the classroom, to discuss the possibility of countertransference?
Jacqueline Fields

Thank you for your response, Kanako. You make an excellent point about "transformation".

I work in DV and I think its very under addressed

Thank you for your presentation, Benny. As a follow up to what you just asked … you mentioned earlier that social workers across the board should have some basic knowledge of how to deal with DV cases (I'm paraphrasing) - is this a recommendation you have put forward based on your research? And, are there specific tools/trainings that you would recommend for our practicum students to utilize or be exposed to
Emma De Vynck
01:03:12
I have never encountered direct training in DV in social work ed. We do discuss broader interpersonal skills, but I would benefit from some more exposure to screening skills etc.

Do any of our schools poll students about general beliefs/ attitudes at the outset of studies?
Margaret Janse van Rensburg
01:11:29
Yes never had one offered!

I am using VR (Virtual reality) to teach students for safety, home visits, suicide screening. Perhaps, I will add DV screening, too!
Emma De Vynck
01:13:37
I imagine it's controversial, but in line with VR, I see benefit in critical analysis of films that explore some of these dynamics
